"A Strong Woman"

Artist’s Reflection

This piece is deeply personal to me. It was created one morning as the sun peeked through my blinds. I was naked, my cycle had just ended, and I felt like it was the perfect moment to paint.

That day, I discovered the R&B artist Giveon and listened to his album When It’s All Said and Done… Take Time. When I paint, I love to listen to art while I create art. The music allowed me to be free—mind open, spirit flowing. Out of that space of stillness and emotion, A Strong Woman was born.

This painting represents myself at the end of my cycle:

  • Pink represents the vagina—sacred, powerful, and real.

  • White represents purity—the innocence I began with and the purity I brought into this world: my daughter.

  • Black represents the trauma I’ve endured as a woman, from relationships that left scars but also lessons.

  • Red embodies my fire, the emotions that rise and fall with each cycle.

  • Brown grounds me—it reflects the peace I felt that day, renewed and creative.

  • Green connects to my heart chakra, always vibrating with love and balance.

This Piece Is For

Those who understand the power, pain, and beauty of womanhood. For the people who know what it’s like to move through their cycle and emerge reborn each time. For the women who have experienced trauma but still bring life and light into the world. For the souls who believe that even in darkness, there is always light. For the ones who know the freedom of creating unguarded—painting naked, honest, and whole.
